Napa Valley Massage Therapist Caters to Moms with Children in Tow
Mumspa, a new private massage facility is taking advantage of a growing trend in our nation by combining a relaxing massage with child care.
Napa, CA - February 2006 - MumSpa, a new private massage and spa facility providing therapeutic treatments is offering a new service concept to Napa Valley moms, massage and childcare all at the same venue.
"Women with children who have forfeited massage for lack of babysitting need not shun the massage table any longer," expressed Vicki Mudgett, owner and certified massage therapist for MumSpa. "Now moms can enjoy an intensive massage and Jacuzzi in a private setting and receive the full benefits without having to rush to the babysitter afterward." Mudgett reports that children will have a personal area where they can play and be entertained with adult supervision. MumSpa caters to one client at a time and accepts any age child as long as they can, "be away from mom for an hour or so."
"It can be very stressful when you are receiving a massage and worrying about your children, or you have to drive to another location by a determined time. It's absolutely mandatory that one be totally relaxed during a massage treatment or the goal of healing is defeated." Mudgett claims that the concept of babysitting and massage service was born out of personal need. "I have two children and completely understand the quandary of childcare."
A graduate of Calistoga Massage Therapy School, Mudgett has worked in various celebrated properties both in and around the Napa Valley, including the Villagio Inn and Spa in Yountville. She is trained in deep tissue execution and Swedish massage techniques, and considers each client unique. "I am not a paint-by-number massage therapist," claims Mudgett. "I offer techniques needed on an individual basis and our concept of MumSpa goes along with my vision to offer a stress-free massage." "One of the prime benefits of massage is reduction of stress. It would be hard to achieve that if you are concerned about your children."
Located in American Canyon, the gateway to the Napa Valley, MumSpa offers all facets of Swedish, deep tissue and pressure point massage therapy. Childcare includes a certified child care provider and array of games, toys (including a large LegoŽ train set) and videos for children of all ages. The MumSpa approach is to offer mothers in Napa Valley a "total relaxation and restorative massage experience". For more information, call 707-812-4029 or view their web site at www.mumspa.com.
